Little Boy Blue

By SickSanityJenn

A small child dressed in blue
One never given proper tools
Twists and turns in his bed
Monsters leaking out his head
He wants to scream, needs to shout
But his mouth only frowns and pouts
Tears peek out from clenched eyes
But his tiny resolve refuses to cry
He will not wake them in the night
No matter the issue, no matter the fright
He will not cower to their knees
Or else he'll meet with brutal deeds
Hands just harsh, cruel and biting
Voices so loud and dominating
His will is stronger than his age belies
He is not weak, though he is only 9
Never given comfort or love
Dying inside for just a hug
