Corporeal Remains
By Diabolical Incantations
Festering flesh,
a crippled corpse
lies in decay.
Eroding life
from physical planes,
corporeal form
all that remains.
Putrid parts
of fetid vessels,
void of soul and mind,
sate appetites
of carrion beasts,
upon your flesh
a vulture feasts.
Foul mass
of stinking flesh,
viscera and veins,
rancid meat
on lifeless bones,
corporeal remains.

One could view the corporeal form to be just a husk, or maybe a hollow puppet if one was so inclined, it can bring out some heated debates. To me this does speak highly however of the finality of death and decay, a fantastic write.

Love this one . . . "corporal" evokes such a sense of societal and administrative barriers in the pursuit of the normalcy that is touted as the goal. "Crippled corpse" is an especially vivid representation of this. I'm so glad that you decided to keep writing and adding to Dark Poetry; I really do adore all of your works.
