Treachery of the Damned
By Diabolical Incantations
A dark lord sits upon his throne
his army is at hand.
These denizens are his to own,
their evil to command.
With iron fist and chains of fear
he keeps their loyalty
but whisperings spread through the ranks,
they speak of mutiny.
They are taking back command,
severing the hand
that rules over their land,
treachery of the damned.
Overlord has become content,
much to his demise,
not suspecting their intent
kept hidden from his eyes.
They shall arise to see him fall,
for this they will unite.
They are the damned infernal ones
and this is their night.
They are taking back command,
severing the hand
that rules over their land,
treachery of the damned.

First of all, let me just say that the concept is completely inspired. The first stanza is entirely vivid and and your imagery throughout the poem is spot-on. The lines for "taking back command" break the rhythmic sequence, but once I read through again I could see that it actually serves to mix it up and provide a new layer to the work. I will be adding you to my favorite author list- I'm in love!
