The Scars Within

By NRoseJ

the scars within
deep upon deep
sobbing and sobbing
disturbing my sleep;
(a reprobate mind is what i had become)

so lost was my mind
in a dungeon was my bed
low light only flickered
my soul almost dead;
see i lived in much darkness...
(my mind was locked in chains)

i couldn't see it was the enemy's trap
and swirling thoughts prevented me,
from being able to grasp;
that what i so desperately needed, was Him...
(there then came a night when it all came to a head)

the enemy upon me,
laying in my bed...
evil manifested in my body
i was chilled to my bones;
(out of my mouth came sounds that were not my own)

in between consciousness
in between groans
i cried out to the LORD, "HELP ME!"
(even though i was not living my life for the Lord)

a bible pressed against my chest
was to be my only sword,
and by grace He saved me
He answered my cries
my wailing He stopped;
(much to my surprise)

How gracious He was,
He is and always will be
to this daughter of sin;
still, He saved ME!
confused how He could love me...
(living life the way i did)

(He explained that what had happened;)
was that i fell off the grid
that the time had now come
He was pulling me back
He gently whispered to me;
"daughter, now, there is nothing you will lack."

(He told me that His love would never cease)
and that all i had to do
was have faith, and believe;
i needed to pray, and to start giving,
thanks and glory to Him,
for the new life i now was living.

    A happy ending after all the trials and tribulation, it's too bad more people can't find that. An enjoyable read, none the less, thanks for posting.
