thinking ahead (i think)
By tallygrowsome
I saw a man praying for his unborn child
and tried to put it in a way my mind could understand
(if you believe, hats off, you're lucky
with that kind of moral high ground
instead of being on a tightrope
like the rest of us.)
so i imagined a man at a desk
transferring money into his future child's account.
for college, if he was a good parent,
and if he was a bad one, for therapy.

Ha! That's all it boils down to, isn't it? With or without a god we choose alone. With or without a god we make mistakes or successes. We raise a child well or don't, and they, in return, make mistakes and successes which shape their own realities. Ultimately we walk alone.

A very interesting parallel you've drawn here. I like the way you wrap it all up.

Balancing the unforeseeable unknowns. This is a clever imagining. I am enjoying your works. The title is apropos, & yes, it makes me think...I think?
