Happy Frowns

By BrideToAgony

To live is to despair
It's in the ocean
It's in the air
But life is also full of hope
It's what allows us mortals to cope

It's light we seek
To root out darkness so bleak
But every light
No matter how bright
Whether its source be a bulb or a flame
Casts a shadow that endeavors to maim
Any comfort or warmth provided by fire
In this world otherwise so dire

In an attempt to bring peace rulers wage war
They leave the earth battle worn and torn
But with all their good intentions
All they ever achieve
Is in increase
In deceased
But that's never mentioned
By those rulers we abhor

We always want what we cannot acquire
And push away that what's already possessed
Personally I think  this  suggests
That humanity's is doomed well beyond any words I am capable to express

We are forced to live with our mortality
In this contradictory reality
