Common Senses

By Elle Amore

 I am envious of every woman you've ever held in your arms,
and of every woman you will ever hold;

Of every woman you've ever looked deep into the eyes of,
and of every woman who will ever have the fortune of catching your oceanic gaze;

Of every woman who has felt the warmth of your breath on her neck,
and every woman who will hear you whisper into her ear;

Of the women who have pressed their lips to yours,
and any who will taste your lips in future.

__

In my heart and mind, you will always be the young man I first saw all those summers ago. The one who always knew what I wanted and needed. Who looked forward to the next time he would see me.

The boy I fell for all those years ago when I simply hadn't realized it yet.
