Sleepless Night

By DavidVale

When darkness falls and day grows dark
When passing hours will leave their mark
When warmth is stolen by cold night
I hold my dream of you up high

When distant longing gets too near
When time digs roots to gnawing fear
When food can't quench my growing hunger
Can be far from you not much longer

Now trees stay silent as I pass
And at your door I am at last
Please open up and let me in
So I would know: you love me stillĀ
