Rudiments of the spiritual life.

By InTheWorldOfAme

 Can you hear it?

It’s the sound of the trees, the humming melody of the birds as they fly through the air.

Can you see it?

The honeybees coming from their flower, spreading their pollen and moving home to restore the honey in their hives.

Can you feel it?

The gentle wind walking you away from the place you started off your journey.

You’re changing.

You’re not who you used to be, you’re moving.

Don’t stop.

Stop and you’ll freeze time will swallow you whole.

You need to keep going.

I know you want to stop, sing with the birds,

Smell the pollinated followers, but I need you to move.

Keep going, you can’t—you can’t stop.

I’m nothing without you—I need you to fight.

I guess it’s a flight or fight response, but keep moving!

I can’t let you get stuck in the wonderful spring with the clear lakes,

The flowery meadows—please don’t stop fighting.

I understand, it’s hard to keep moving, but I need you to try.

I don’t want to hear the sound of the beeping go out.

I don’t know if I can handle it anymore.

The rain you feel in your dreams, the calming one that’s been morphed,

It’s the feeling of my desperate tears to keep you going.

Don’t fall into the spring, I need you here.

I’m never going to forgive the spring, because it’s taking you away.

The sound of the beeping stops, I’m left with a shrieking terrified scream.

The men in white tap their watches and state the time,

3:21 pm, March 24th.

I let my eyes flutter close—I can only imagine you now,

Were you happy?

Did you hear it?

The sound of the trees the humming melody of the birds as they flew through the air.

Did you see it?

The honeybees moving from flower to flower, spreading pollen and taking their spoils back home.

Did you feel it?

The gentle wind that’s walking you away from me.

And now all I can hope is that,

While you’re gone from me now, you’re okay…

Thanks a lot. I don't believe that I am one of the "best". More like average, but thank you.
