Heritage

By Aernor

I look into your eyes and I see the past.
Broken bibles rewritten.
Crushed faiths reforged.
In the crucible of poverty.

I look into your eyes and I see the past.
Landscapes changed.
Mountians reformed
To bend to our will.

I look into your eyes and I see the past
Ancient ones howling at me.
Crowds of assembled wisdom.
The truth twisted by every generation.

Now your eyes have fallen to the ground
For I no longer hang on your every word.
Tainted tales told by your tears
As I turn from all of you to start anew.
