The Fall

By devilsrighthand

This I knew was my fall

Straight past the golden gate and dark oak halls

The farther I fell, the more I knew I was coming to hell

I could hear the rushing of wind, the tolling of the bell

I was dead; there was no doubt about it

And I was falling farther into the pit

Great beasts of fire stood staring

The Devil looking with its menacing glare

I stood to my full height

The Devils face suddenly went white

I raised my fists ready for a fight

The Devil but backed down and ran from site

I took his throne with great pride

I inspired fear into all who did not hide
