Let Me Sleep

By WarTorn

Dry winded fires of seduction, ocular hypnotic motion

Eye movement rapid, wide open commotion

Conjunctiva drought, arid, emotion undiscovered

Shape shifting dreamscape beyond attainable

Amnesia tainted rustling, a paranoid pawn

Compulsive indecision hidden where shades are tightly drawn

Rhetorical mind raped riddles gesture tales of restful night

Shadows waltz the hours outdoors in pale moon light

A circadian rhythm tapping, unending tease dormant

A white noise seduction, fatigue permanent

Melatonin sight fog hazed, a caffeine battle bled

A nocturnal death race towards silk laden bed

Head nodding strobe trance, a corneal glaze

A dawn breaking sun stream strips all hope away

A coffee drip pin prick, steady in its speed

My god I’m begging

Please

Let me…

sleep

Used to feel like this a lot when I worked nights, got no sympathy from anybody either. Suggest get up for a while and maybe snack, and then try again. Wolves only sleep about 4 hours, but they nap several times too each day. Cheers!
