God Must Have Black Hair

By daiglepoems

I thought I must be dreaming
that I had somewhere to go.
A question I should ask.
An answer I should know.

A mission to accompolish
for the benefit of all,
but my body had forsaken me.
Wouldn't answer to my call.

I looked down and started screaming.
New experience for me.
The more I thought it started seeming
like an opportunity

to wander through the heavens.
To seek what I might find.
To discover if there is some kind
of Universal Mind.

I went anywhere I wanted.
I got there instantly.
The emptiness felt haunted.
Where might Almighty be?

He must be out here somewhere
in His mighty golden shrine.
In that infinite black background
His white hair and beard would shine.

I wondered why the Big Guy
would want to hide from me.
Is it that big of a deal
for Him to let me see?

I never did locate Him.
Couldn't even find His chair.
but looking back I realize
God must have black hair.

Of course you'd never find Him
no matter how much time
you spent looking for Him.
Of course you'd never find

Him in that black background
that is everywhere up there,
reclining in His black throne.
Brushing out His long black hair.
