Split

By starrynite522

 Two faces have I.

One for the world;

And one that is mine

The first wears a smile, mischievous, and friendly.

The second dons a scowl, grievous, and deadly.

Trapped inside and screaming out.

No one listens.

No one sees.

I curl up within myself;

But remain functioning.

No one knows.

 No one asks.

But here I am, split in half.

The façade is better than I could have hoped.

I am impenetrable, inexorable, and paradoxical.

For I am shaken, beaten, and broken.

How long can this pretense continue on?

The truth and lies begin to blend

Swirling mass of thoughts becomes hard to comprehend.

Where do I even begin to try and understand?
