Coast to Coast

By daiglepoems

A mayday on the air.
Coast to coast on ship to shore.
Is anybody there?
Never felt so small before.

Is anybody listening?
Does anybody care?
Do they even know I'm missing?
Anybody?
Anywhere?

Will someone share my sorrow
coast to coast on ship to shore?
What flies on the morrow?
I've no clue what lies in store.

With the current's cool insistence
the wind plays on my back.
Ever lengthening the distance.
Ever broadening the tack.

A desperation plea
from coast to coast on ship to shore.
Dear God.
Please comfort me.
I can endure no more.

I surrender to Your waves
to rest forevermore
in one of many gravesĀ
upon the ocean's floor.

Release me from my plight
and trouble me no more
or let rescue come this night
from coast to coast on ship to shore.
