A Capitol Offense

By daiglepoems

Love should be against the law
the damage that it's done.
A broken heart.
A fractured jaw.
A case of murder one.

Should be a class A felony
with a lengthy prison term.
Don't want that love no where near me.
It makes my stomach churn.

Puts a shiver up my spine
and my lips around a bottle.
Holding up a sign
with my foot down on the throttle.

Runnin' hard.
Runnin' fast.
Can't let that love catch up to me.
Had some run-ins  in the past.
Not a pretty sight to see.

Perhaps I got it wrong.
Made some trivial mistake.
but that hottie in the thong
ran my heart through with a stake

There's no mistaking that
or misinterpreting intent.
Just a fucking alley cat
I thought was heaven sent.

Yep!

It oughta be a crime.
Too much drama and suspense.
Get caught a second time,
a capitol offense.
