Tragedy
By letitbe
He took her hand, graceful as ever, asking her to dance
A smile played on her lips, coyly, she accepted.
There was a glint in his eyes, a secret to tell
"Is this your specialty?" She asked
"No." He spoke.
The first words he had ever said to her.
"What's your specialty then?"
"Truth," he replied. "It's the only thing that sets us free."
"Well" she asked, "What truths do you have to tell me?"
"Don't you know? Everybody's in love with someone else."
"Well then, who do you love?"
"Nobody," he said, "I'm the exception to the fact"
A challenge, she took it as, not knowing she wouldn't win
Everyone fell for her, it was a given fact
This would be the only time that it would not happen
and it would be the thing to drive her mad.
Her words had no effect on him,
but the girl with the heart of stone
Fell for the man with the unsymapthetic mind
She knew this challenge was to make her or break her
And it was the one time she freely gave her heart away
And in turn received nothing back

Heart. We can't give it away because it has a will of its own. It has his own rules. But we can choose who do we approach to, we don't have to create a thick wall around us. Just learn to study others, before letting ourselves melt with that person. If we can't always win the lottery, then we can't always lose either. We have to keep on trying.
