Yikes!

By daiglepoems

 Paralyzed,
I pondered.
Jaw locked in perpetually  pained amusement as a tell tale Harley echoed on approach.

Reckless in its arrogance.

Demanding recognition.

Vision, re-assigned  to intercept it's trajectory,
locked on and identified the target.

A thunderous whirlwind sparrow boring a hollow shaft through solid air enveloped me in a tubular aftershock.

My toes desperately sought purchase in the soles of boots that had lost their grip on reality.

Over I went.

Face down in a short forest of tall tales and fearsome fauna rabidly feeding on the putrified remains of their ancestors.

Yikes!
