Within a Dream

By JadedHeart

I dreamt about you in the midnight hours.
So vivid I could almost feel you there.
You could hear my heart beating out of control,
you were so close I could almost stroke your hair.
You held my gaze so steady, your hand upon my face.
You were so real, I could almost kiss your lips.
You whispered my name in soft low tones, words didn't seem to matter.
It was almost perfect, so real, vivid and true.
I was almost close enough to love you,
then I awoke without you. . .

Oh, that hurts. This irony used to hurt me as though I were being cheated on. There's sometimes a good explanation for them being gone, but damn it still hurts. Thank your for writing this, I am one of those who can appreciate this. :)
