Gator Lake

By letitbe

You had your trademark beanie and a beer in hand,
Many years had passed since I had seen you on that land,
A smile I gave, with my nerves up high,
In your studio you turned with the same reply,
An attraction I always felt still remained strong,
I had no sense of right and wrong,
We held a complicated weave from previous degrees
Of why we should not be
A simple kiss, a turned embrace,
Without a doubt, it left a trace.
We tried and failed and went through hell,
Only to find that together we fell,
Two hearts met by coincidence on a winter night,
Five years to find that they'd eventually be
In unison, they can agree, that this love is finally meant to be.
They had met at Gator Lake
And she fell into a love she cannot shake
