Below Deep

By chrome arctic

The whole world begins to sway
Once small cracks have turned to punctures
Loud snaps and roaming creaking
I swear all of this made sense one time

Sometimes reasons take a wrong turn
Sometimes we’re the worst of ourselves
Those things we meant to attend to
Go unchanged lost downstream in time
I don't want to be
On this side of sorrow

My eyes ache when looking forward
So I turn and gaze without thought
At what used to mean something
I wonder if there’s any point at all

Sometimes your best is not enough
Sometimes it’s all shot to Hell
Trying to light fires in the rain
No miracles will come to save us
I don't want to be
This far below deep

This is far above shallow (pun intended) and so well written; enjoyed immensely, thanks.
