Sanguis Solis (Blood of the Sun)
By alesana
One by one you broke me
Weakened what fragile shell I had
Words
like stones thrown from your tongues
Where have I gone wrong, my
God?
I have merely done my very best
A bleeding sun tells me
in tear drop words
That all I do is futile - it can never be enough
You shred my heart to pieces
And then with honeyed tongue
You
tie it back with ribbon and bow
Serve it to me on a silver platter
Only so you could destroy it again
Were you never truly here before?
On this side of the firing line?
Shieldless and alone, you say
But my heart, my God, will guide me
And the power of those I love
Shall ever shield my soul.

alesana! i havnt heard your sweet voice in a while. i love your poem, and it sounds like theres a war with words. and you got hurt. you have to be strong and keep going. people dont realize what a word can do to a person, it does hurt. either bullying or from abuse, just cut your damn throat right. because the pain just the same. great job, im looking forward to more posts from you.

Very powerful and super imagery with the tongue that hurls words like stones! Thanks.
