Hurtings

By dark_sister

My shoes are breaking my feet, baby.
But this street is all shattered glass,
I can't make my way without being carried.
The boy who lives down the alley
won't put a name to his madness.
I've tried bottling his tears
for him to drink another day,
but he purses his lips and just kisses me.
There's a girl in my house,
she lives in the basement,
I can feel her chill and her wounds.
It makes me want to flood every floor
with hot water, and wash her out.
Wash her out of her mess and my hair.
And there's a shadow behind your eyes
and an ache in my wicked heart,
my fingers are scarred from the burnings.
If you'll listen to me, I'll speak you a spell,
and I swear it will stop the world in its turning.
