Charms

By kenneth

Take a look deep within me
Beyond my front and stupidity
Can you see the real me
A heart of a man that is lonely

I tried my best to hide it
The fact that I love and care
I’m afraid that you might break it
So to openly show it I wouldn’t dare

Can you see the good in me
Can you tell that I’m not all bad
Can you help to set me free
From all these feelings that I’ve had

Can you open your heart and let me in
Will you hold me in your embrace
The shaking in my weak knees begin
As I brush the hair from your face

I lean in to kiss you gently
As I hold you in my arms
With you I’m not lonely
As I fall victim to your charms

Very nice effort, more upbeat (even if this is Dark Poetry), and technically perfect - well done.
