Never Ending Nightmare

By pureevil8

The nightmares have returned home,

They all came back to play.

Just as ruthless as before,

Still not allowing me to awake,

Could you imagine my torment?

Though I know you could never understand,

What it would be like,

To see a nightmare to its end,

No escape from slumber,

No comfort of knowing you're just in bed,

Forced to participate in all the horrid things,

Right up until the very end.

Could you fall asleep knowing,

Knowing that you may die in this dream,

Only to stare at your cold dead corpse,

Until the next dream begins,

That no matter what horribly unspeakable things,

You may become subject to,

There will be no escape.

Welcome to my nightly escapade,

Where my torture is to delight,

And my suffering never ends.

Where I may die a thousand times tonight,

Or witness some horrible revenge.

Perhaps it will be quick tonight,

And that's the best I get.

It's never any different,

Things never change for me.

It's just what I've accepted

A never ending nightmare for me.

Nostalgia can be very depressing at times. We look at our lives and to ourselves they seem very simple, because we've lived our days almost the same as any other day. But, to others it may be more complex that generally assumed. Great ink, my friend.
