Three sheets to the wind
By N3ll
there's tension in the air tonight
and it announces itself with a
deep rumbling,
a percusional introduction that
leaves goosebumps
and chills.
The thunder that crashes
as two hearts beat
against
one another, deafening
the lightning that sparks
between hesitant fingertips
and skin, blinding
the thrill
and fear of water
crashing against creaking wood
shattering.
And you'll be my god tonight
I'll pray for you to deliver
me safetly to shore
my Poseidon, my Neptune
with your trident
stave
thrust deep in the
corals of my heart
and you'll
be my storm tonight
ravaging what's left of this ship
a tempest
desecrating my bows
a torrential wind billowing my sails
and
in the end you'll just leave me
a still sky
a cold wind
an
orange glow
shuddering in your wake.

excellent metaphor developed with care, precision and soft descriptions of sensuality, of passion, of denouement.... well crafted and smoothly expressed. *bows* thank you.
