Fighting the Doubts

By starrynite522

 Round and round like a schoolyard carousel;
They taunt and tease bringing restlessness and unease.
Just when life is looking up, they appear and drag me down.
Carving on my soul an irrepressible frown.

Preparing to leave, but not ready to say goodbye.
These are the times I fight to hold it all inside.
Not knowing what the future holds,
My breath escapes and blood turns cold.

As the doubts begin to creep in
A part of my soul dies within.
I need to quell these doubts
Before they take complete control.

I'll take it day by day;
In my thoughts you constantly stay.
Savoring each and every kiss,
Memories stored for when it's you I miss.
