Haunted

By starrynite522

 Feel as if I'm falling;
Won't somebody catch me, please?
Lately life has brought me down upon my knees.
My world is spinning off its axis;
Much to fast to get a grip.
Dizzy with exhaustion, I fear that I will trip.
I long for the way life used to be.
We clung to our innocence and were carefree.
That night came swiftly
And we faced a harsh reality.
I hear the sirens begin to wail.
Blood rushes from my face, leaving it ghostly pale.
At night I close my eyes, but the accident repeats.
Strong friendships that existed have gone into retreat.
My ears are filled with the mournful cries;
Echoing in my head like a sickening lullabye.
