acorn be her corneas

By forgoten_wolf

her eyes as plain as one can see
round pools of brown lost eternal bliss
claimed being told they are beautiful
she smiles with confusion
nothing special lays in those common dark
but you look deep within visualizing something else
how easily the pain is hidden behind a grin
read simply as a childrens book left open on the main page
a television screen at full volume replaying her story for you

most of which urge you to fast forward
they cry out to you to break the bars
she breathes calmly without disruption
some urging you to pause forever
the all too short happiness

final peace test alas
the end to a day full of tiring nonsense

without any common sense
her once placid heart beats as it should
everything erased well hidden in within
when awoken
a true smirk stretched upon her aged young face
with eyes glistening in the first light of day break

brand new and anticipating to what awaits
the eyes of the pessimist with little hope
her exquisite so called plain featured eyes

the scars visible within the depths of her corneas
she accepts the compliment with clear refusal in her eyes
