The Princess and the Goblin
By dark_sister
I am the princess.
You live in the bottom of a deep, dark well.
I heard you whispering one day,
as I passed by,
all dark and vibrant and shuddering with
a need for mystery.
I knelt at the cusp of damp stones.
I inhaled the scent of secrets.
I could not understand your hushed tones.
I wrote a note on gilded paper,
and watched it flutter down into the blackness.
Every day I come for you.
Every day new words sketched out
on shimmering parchment.
I never know what you think,
for your language is not my own,
and you have no way
to give words back to me.
Soon I shall drop my golden ball
and listen closely for the splash,
just to see how far away you truly are.

Speachless. I have read much of your poetry and that is the only word that comes to mind for all of them. I am simply, speachless.
