I Know the Darkness

I know the darkness,
it is something I have been accustomed
to for so long.
I have been hurt more in the daytime.
The darkness is my protector.
I have taken refuge in the abyss
that is the limbo my life is in.
I know the darkness;
I am caressed by it,
It is my lover.
