A Childs Innocence

By Kittykat

I remember long ago,
When I was a child,
Spring time was my favorite,
And I could always smile.

Things seemed so important then,
Everything was new,
I'd look at the sky above,
And wonder why it's blue.

I'd dream of the ocean,
Of castles made of sand,
Time always moved quickly,
When play time was at hand.

The magic spells I conjured up,
I'd cast them to the wind,
Winding their way to heaven,
Oh what faith I had in them.

Tales Mother told at bedtime,
Of fairy kings and knights,
Falling asleep while listening,
I'd dream of them at night.

Memories are in the end, the greatest adventures of our lives. The path we walk shadowed or lightened by their tales. Memories so bright as ones of love, joy, and peace keep at bay the souless wandering through life.
