DEEPER

By kat phillips

I watched the life go out of your eyes as you went down deep to places your mind or your body had not been, places you avoided to keep from the embraces of this tortured life that you thought you had escaped.

When your children that you love more than life itself were ripped from your arms,  I saw you go deeper.I saw it in your face, but  I was helpless.Your countenance changed as you moved toward the unfamiliar place. Oh you have been there before, but it was so removed  by you ,all you could do was fall, as you spiraled down deeper.
Life shattered, unlike pieces of a puzzle.Nothing left to put together. Too many missing pieces;  the life that fit so completely now lost forever and will never be the same, because now you are in even deeper. You choose to follow any road that did not remind you of what you lost,  the void that some how fills you. Women, drugs,  music they were all there to help you through this time of desperation. and I saw you go deeper. The friends unlike the friends of times past ,those were loyal and clean spoken.
Some of them were also not what they appeared to be.I tried to tell you then, but no you couldn't see because then too, you were in deep.
