Broke Down : Southwest Adams St.
I look out amongst
the rampitt concrete outcroppings
of the city squalor
I feel such agony
as I gaze amongst
the empty crack viles
and the unopened
yet disgaurded
pieces of cellophane
and boxes
Misery loves company
they say
I make my way to the corner
for the usual
two cups with milk
there's this girl there
I
imagine her draped in silk
if only for a moment
I am taken
at first
by her supple lips
all dry and weather beaten
its a cold
and windy
day in the city
then I gaze into her eyes
such pain
pupils like pen nails
anemic
discolored and gray
dark circles
need I say more
that's what you get perdition
broken
promises
and dreams
never fulfilled
the kids
they play in alleyways
amongst the refuse
and vile eronomous
collections of debris
I just wonder
could we set them all free ?
from this hate filled existence
so they can become
something more
than just another
beautiful
junkie

Yeah man. I don't know what to possibly say about this. If we treated the situation with love and understanding instead of disdain and isolation then maybe we could. Crushing.

stunning imagery, and heartbreaking. to see with your minds eye and then be thrown back into the cruelty of reality. wanting to save people from themselves. lovely.
