My new favourite thing

By Qurious

I've never written acrostic poems before

Can't seem to be able to quit with the writing
Again and again I think of new poems
Never realizing I do this without trying
Never realizing it brings me joiy
Or that I would continue to want to
Trying to remember why I ever stopped writing

Am sure it was only complacency
Not that I didn't want to
Don't think I'll let it happen again

Dreaming, painting
Or sketching ,or singing
Never was it writing that moved me for long,
Till now.

Why haven't I ever tried this before??
Amazingly, this has become yet another
New way for puzzle pieces to fall in my brain
Tumbling into place with amazing clarity

They just seem to come out
Officially released from the prison of my mind

Seemingly effortless, they flow
Tearing out of my fingers at an amazing speed
One after the other
Poem after poem

When it will end I really can't know
Really, it's not up to me
It's something that has to be purged from my soul
Try as I might I just can't let it be
I don't mean to keep rhyming
Nor speaking in prose
Gawd it won't stop! I keep writing poems!

this is a neat approach to acrostic poetry. the stream of consciousness style made it flow nicely without seeming forced in any way. well done!

You have made the Acrostic structure seem so simple to accomplish. I have found with my own style that it is hard for me to follow ANY set structure. I hope your inspiration does not leave you any time in the near future.--Draven
