I will not be one (an addition)

By OverratedGirl

A work inspired by end of an era

Not to disrespect the artist, chrome artic, I rearranged a few words and added some things on.. while going through random work, I came across this poem and it insipired me to re- join after I had added a little more to it. Kudos to the orginal piece and artist. First two belong to them.
Thank you.

And when the paper sun burns up
Motivation has dulled the shine
Of all the things you've felt entitled to
I will not be one

And when time has weathered your eyes
You have forgotten what too look for
Of all the things you're certain of
I will not be one
----------------------------------------------------------

And when the world burns apart in front of you
The lies all piled upon you
Of all the screams that would imprison you
I will not be one

And when the cold snakes into your bones
Steeping into your very soul with icy talons
Of all the things that would radiate for you
I will not be one

And when your reflection torments you
The weight of the stone crushes you
Of all those ghosts that haunt you
I will not be one

And when you count the hearts laid down for you
That gave only to later take away
Of all those that have betrayed you
I will not be one

Very nicely done. I think you completed the first two verses superbly.
