Lost Chapter -The Beauty

By Henry Coldnight

of the lost city:
a thousand ships,
launched, sunken;
dulled swords,
broken shields, and
pieces of bronze plates.

Petals of blood
leading the wind
into the ruins,
commencing the attack
over and over again.

Will they ever stop? No.
Why not?
Because it's beautiful to (just) watch.
Was it worth it?
Totally.

    i loved the phrase "petals of blood" - almost seductive & great little piece all in all

  • A former member wrote: the stopstill e.motion of this was exquisitely thoughtout. and the watching refernce adds a .....[gulp] sensuality. near intangible sensuality. really a stunning piece for me.
