So Close To Happiness

You know what?
There is something else wrong.
I am angry, and it's all your fault.

I had become content with loneliness.
Solitude, as the professionals call it.

I had sucessfully closed to door on my emotions,
Put them away,
Only to be looked upon as memories.

And then there's you,
Burning down my fortress.

So what's wrong?
.Love.

Apparently,
Love is wrong.

I tried so hard,
Tried to make it work.
Opened up the door,
To my feelings,
Only to be betrayed again.

And for what?
You're afraid of hurting me?
Please.
You've done so much and worse,
Trying to avoid that,
If it was even your concern.

You don't want a relationship...
But you don't mind hooking-up?
Insane.

It could've been so great!
We would've had so many memories!!!

And you've thrown it all away,
FOR WHAT?!?

...for nothing.
You have no excuse.

This miserable, lame pass at poetry,
Is written with more hate than I have ever known before.
It is the final nail, as I re-close the door to my emotions.

You can try to make this right,
And I encourage you to!
But you don't want it...
You NEVER wanted it.
You were just too weak to say it.

I'm not angry you don't want a relationship.
I'm angry because you want to hang out,
Flirt with me, tantalize my fantasies,
Go out on the town, make me laugh...
What more do you expect out a relationship?

Fuck-Buddies are already dating,
They just don't want the responsibility.
You want a fuck-buddy?
Fine, but dispense with the foreplay and say it already.
And don't expect anything else from me.
At that point you'd be nothing but flesh in my eyes.

But it would never come to that, I wouldn't let it.
I love you too much.

And so,
Welcome to my hell.

I was so close to happiness,
And now...
I want to see you every minute of every day,
And never again.
All at once.
