Fainting is for Amateurs
By CjPsychotic
Divinity, blind and lowly,
Came--glistening--to the fiberoptics
Of my mind.
I nutured it, soft and slowly, and
It grew--submissive--as hope that
Seemed so kind.
...But now I close my eyes, only to see
A Malignant Angel encompass me;
Imposing, (though I harbored it)
The will to wholly despirit.
Infinity, stark and callous,
Stayed--flaunting--with obscene
Intention.
I protested it, and all it's malice, but
Nothing...Nothing...could delay its
Pretension.
...But now I close my eyes, hoping to sleep
While the nightmare is Reality's keep.
They listen now, as it sweetly sings,
The Malignant Angel with dirty wings.

I'm going to ditto what Mab said about this one. It's a gorgeous piece of imagery. I especially liked the second and fourth stanzas. An excellent write.

this was even better the second time I read it...the rhyming was skillfully done.

This is my first poem created for the site so please be brutally honest with me. Honesty is much appreciated.
