Sunshine and rainbows

By Vampixie

The sun's too bright.
It hurts my eyes
when I stare,
so I look at the rainbow instead.
It frowns at me, so
I frown back.
You tell me to
'turn that frown upside down'
so I hang from the apple tree
for a few hours.
The rainbow smiles back
taunting me.
I can't be happy like this.
You tell me not to be stupid
and to get inside.
So I stumble up the garden
as the blood starts circulating
again.
I turn and give the rainbow
one last frown
and then
it fades away.
Ha. I just go back
to staring at the sun.
It doesn't hurt as much
