To my Brother

By Mithiras

(Dedicated to my Best Friend Dilly, A.k.a Echoes)

We hear the distant thunder as we walk along the silent road,
It's calling our names, asking us to fall away into our graves,
No, we say, it is not the way, to give up is not the warriors code,
There we made our stand, brothers and warriors purely made.

The attack was quick and fierce, but we held the enemy back,
Valently he stood up and yelled "Hold them Back!"
More men were dropping like flies around us but stood fast,
That thunderous roar sounding the final task.

The moon was bloody, the ground was blood, we could not see,
But no matter what happened, our brother was there leading,
He picked me up, sent me forth with him into the sea of fire,
We made it through "How the Hell?" I wondered, Bravening.

Our squad made it through thanks to Sergeant D. and his bravery
And we reformed once more in attempt to push the enemy back
Once more into the breach, once more to your feet,
We can do anything together, we are all Brothers.

I don't know, it goes with the story I'm writing, so it flew out. Should have made it a bit longer though. But my brain farted.
