Midnight Trellis Of My Dreams

By brokenbandagedbetter

I try to sleep but the notion eludes me
can’t seam to quiet the faithful circus that dances inside.
Thoughts of you and all you are forced to perceive
whip through the midnight trellis of my dreams.
I am scared to death of what you will choose to believe.
But my dear girl, you know me
place him and me, juxtaposed
and you are surly to see.
Remember back to when it was “we”
You remember, you can see.
Just look back to your memories.
They are yours, yours to keep.
Peer within; look so very deep.
You’re soon to be home, very soon indeed
and this promise I will give to you, this decree
there will no longer be reason for you to weep.
So long for now my sweet and lovely
I must now try again to get some sleep.
