Cell Phone...

By allenthepope

hope'n that stupid cell phone will ring
and you'll say "I'm sorry" again
It's been much too long since we've sat on the porch
you say you're loving me, but it feels like you're leaving me
alone again
by that little candle to keep the bugs away
you say...and you say, but what you play is different
a million miles ago
to the closest soul
who acted like they loved me
blood stained shirt forms a puddle in my lap
but in fact
I think you CAN bleed forever
for---ever isn't real
because to this day
no one has ever seen it by god is dog spelled backwards...
you come around and I'm ten feet tall
or so I thought
'cause when you're gone
all the stars grow dim
and it's a sin
for me to keep taking you back
and self-preservation should take over
but instead you come over
for a little while anyway
and then here I'll sit
on the porch
hope'n that damn cell phone
would ring__________
