Identity Theft

By Mirage

Shadows cast upon individuality cause confusion in this realm

There's a fusion of two users with their futures at the helm

One becomes the other and the other starts to meld

Each becomes a brother like the summer's solace shelled

Speaking to each other as they delve into their minds

Each one now astonished as to what the other finds

Clarifying logic as they speak philosophy

Opening their souls into what they ought to be

Nevermore confused, as they understand the madness

From one's great frustration to the other's growing sadness

Like water from the rain as I know it only pours

You've stolen my identity...
As I have stolen yours...

- To Tom.
You're the brother I never had. And we shall remain brothers for the rest of our days.

The Ids & Egos (lefts & rights, etc...) are well weighed as this poem develops its own eloquent Mirage of Self (the Soul Destined?). I felt a little sense of Bill's "The Tempest" in the texture of the 1st 2 lines; nice. [On the other side there is always the Other Side, or alter ego/Id]. Good use of alliteration (espc. Line 4), & the structure, the count was spot on! [How we all so truly steal each others "identities", masks or faces; we soak such Madness as poured into our mouths and spit back the sour sense of Sadness in a vicious cycle: a kind of Systematic Chaos]. You show yourself in this poem & thus it is obviously a personal one (espc. as noted; nice Tribute). Well done!
