Bean bags and bear traps
By brainbent
Bear traps on the sidewalks. The pitfalls in my mind.
The subtle traps and cunning cats that sneak where I am blind.
The bean bag in the corner that looks comfy enough.
But if I choose to take a snooze, getting back up is rough.
Bean bags and bear traps in the back of my brain,
Quicksand, self pity and sloth.
Shambles and brambles and comforting pain.
Death invading my thoughts.
Lynch mobs of logic and emotional mines.
I smile and say that I’m fine.
Wasting and wanting till the misery’s prime.
Plucking tunes on the taught trip line.
Fangs in the fool hearts adorning the stage.
Wrought by demolished thought.
Sowing this heartache, tears for my wage.
In the bean bags and bear traps I’m caught.

I can honestly say that when I saw the title I didn't get it, but just one line in I could understand the emotions that are behind it. I feel it all with you and I really really enjoyed it. Thanks
