The Elusive Hero
By Petra Creffield
The Elusive Hero
I wait, I wait
For the fairytale to begin
Put my life on hold
Keep my breath in
Until he comes
Who he is, I do not know
Yet I have waited for him my whole life through.
Is it him over there or is it you?
Sometimes I think I glimpse him
Reflected in my lovers eyes
But in the morning he is gone
My elusive intangible hero
Always out of reach
A shadow in my mind
Keeping me restless
Keeping me blue
Looking for you.

I have read so many poems about choosing the right one. I hope that you find him, and I hope it is obvious when the time comes. Keep searching, and keep writing.

Sounds a lot like many of my earlier poems, searching for one. Good luck to you, and well done
