Clothes of Innocence

By Berry Fantastic

A rag doll with a tattered parasol
Locked out of the carnival and freak show
It’s where you belong, it will not be long

In a cage of sapphire barbed wire
Dressed you up to veil the hideousness
And would the tears wash away the silence

Were those shoes a tight squeeze
The clothes of innocence
On a phantom creature

I hope they cut your heels
You are just a live lie
You are too weak to die

Now all you do is mourn the morn
A rose embedded in sharp thorns
And your skin is dirty and torn

And you just want it all to end
And you’ve been pinned to your own web
A victim of your own damn sin
