Poetry Contest: Wise Words

Wise Words Results

Grand prize: DC$ 12

Contest Creator: Amaryllis

The rules were given as the following:

Lately, I've noticed that all of the recent contests held call for a new work to be entered. This seems to be eliminating the members that could really benefit from the contest prize: members that are currently downgraded and cannot post new works without having to delete a previous work, postcard members that have reached their maximum, and members that lead very hectic lives that doesn't allow them much time for writing and may not be able to produce a quality work within the contest time frame.

So, this contest calls for an old work. The poem should embody a piece of advice, a significant lesson learned, an observation of self, or a motto/mantra to live by. I think that just about every one of us has written something in the past that falls into one of those categories.

No minimum or maximum length for the piece and any form of poetry is accepted.

Thanks to the generosity of a fellow member, specter, there will be a second place prize of 6 DC.

Today is August 15, 2012, so any works entered must be dated no later than August 15, 2012 on your profile. Editing is allowed, but if we find out that you re-used an old credit to host a new piece, your entry will be disqualified.

Feel free to message me with any questions.
