Due to the relative unpopularity of the Basic Membership vs Full or Gold, DarkPoetry is slashing the rate for all new Basic memberships (including returning upgraders) dramatically.

Now you can be a supporting member of DP for as little as $2 a month. Now if that's not low enough to tempt you to be a full fledged DarkPoetry citizen, we give up. For now, anyway...

The next weekly online class will begin on September 1st and will be instructed by course creator Matt. Contact DarkPoet to reserve a spot. Tuition will be a mere $30, which works out to $3 a week.

Two things:

First, DarkPoet has opened enrollment for POE101 starting May 18th. Other details are as described in the news blurb just before/below this one. Professor Jack is limiting the class size to a dozen students, so don't get denied a spot by waiting. Submit your DC$30 to DarkPoet asap to get your seat.

The other thing: May is often a slow month for DP memberships, so we're adding an incentive: If you upgrade your account anytime during May, you get 10% of your upgrade amount back in Ducats. It's a good time to upgrade for the coming year!

DarkPoetry College has turned out another fine batch of graduates: Robyn Layne, Cipher, HHMCameron, Symbol, Rain In The Willows, and SilentStalker. Once again, professor GhettoZombie took good care of the students on their journey through the analytical study of poetry.

If you are interested in either attending a Journeyman class yourself ($30/10wks) or for the graduates, attending an upcoming higher level class ($50/10wks), let DarkPoet know. Once we have sufficient numbers, we'll do it again.

All you have to do is guess what word is the most commonly used in the poems on DarkPoetry. Some words don't count, like "a" or "the," this word is longer. That's all I'm giving you. The first correct submission via DPmail to Adam wins the prize and a mention on the home page.

Of course, it might be possible to construct some software to try to mine poetry from DP, but that wouldn't necessarily give you the right answer since you don't know the algorithm that the word choice comes from. (it is original!)
