Midnight Highway

By Spiked Tongue

Emotions so thick
My muscles are stiff
and my anger will
one day run me off a cliff

I don't see the lines
as they pass me by
foot to the floor on
the pedal just drive

Drown out my thoughts
w/ the music so loud
I can't even hear what
this song is about

The drums are obnoxious
w/ way to much bass
and my vents blow
Fucking cold air in my face

I pass 80, 85 and then 90
w/ no sign of stopping
My speedometer's climbing

Cut out the pain
w/ my razor blade
eyes on the road
as I hack away

Why give a fuck
always bad luck
I swear to God
it never let's up

Proceed without caution
here comes a bend
Hands off the wheel
Is this the end ?

Beautiful! I love how the story unfolds, and the fact that many have taken this road before. Sometimes I want to let go of the wheel, but then there's the chance you might walk away.
